Cash is King
Studies have shown that when you use credit cards to make a purchase, you purchase approximately two and one half times more than if you paid with CASH.
Likewise, when you use a check or debit card you will end up spending much more. Why? Because it’s just too easy to do.
Do a self-test. The next time you go to shopping for anything just take a specific amount of cash with you for the specific items that you are going to purchase. You can usually ‘ballpark’ the costs involved ahead of time, including the sales tax.
When you get to the check out counter and watch the numbers add up on the screen, notice how many others things you have added to the cart (otherwise known as impulse buying). Probably none!
Shop smart. Make a list and stick to it, then only pay with CASH. You will find that your spending habits are under control and you will almost never make impulse purchases.
Then, use the money you are not squandering to get out of debt quicker.
